The Pickin' Porch is dedicated to providing  high quality  acoustic instruments, supplies and services at the best value.   Inspired by the robust Floyd County music community, we are committed to fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of  traditional music and creating a community of acoustic music makers and music lovers.

We offer an array of  handcrafted, new and vintage acoustic instruments including: guitars, banjos, mandolins, dulcimers, fiddles, ukuleles and more. We also provide acoustic instrument repair and instrumental lessons. In addition to a wide selection of acoustic music supplies, we also offer instructional books and videos, locally produced CDs, books about acoustic roots music and artwork about acoustic music and the musicians who make it.

Scott Perry (who operates the store with the able assistance of his wife, Lisa Kae and their two sons, Spencer and Emerson), is a traditional and original acoustic blues and roots music performer and educator.   In addition to the Pickin' Porch, Scott also operates his promotions company and record label Oh Papa Music.  He and his wife live on a 40 acre farm in Floyd County, VA were they raise their two sons, dogs, cats, chickens, fruit trees, berry bushes, a vegetable garden and more than a few eyebrows.
